In alignment with its efforts to achieve social, economic, and environmental prosperity in Saudi Arabia, Community Jameel Foundation participated in the “CSR in Media Forum” as a Main Partner. The forum was held in Riyadh on November 20-21, 2024, under the slogan “Media: Reality and Responsibility”. The forum was organized by the Social Responsibility Association, and under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari; It aimed to highlight the efforts of the new and traditional media in the field of social responsibility.

The Community Jameel Foundation’s support for the Social Responsibility in Media Forum is rooted in its long-standing legacy of community service and diverse initiatives, which focuses on key developmental areas, such as competencies development, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship empowerment, community wellbeing, humanitarian initiatives, and climate change.

Over the span of 2 days, the forum emphasized the critical role of media in social responsibility across the three key sectors: public, private, and nonprofit. It also explored some practical experiences of media outlets in social responsibility, reviewed their adaptive strategies, and exchanged insights on the challenges and obstacles that media faces in this field.

In this regard, Dr. May Omer Taibah, a member of the board of trustees of the Community Jameel Foundation, commented: “We are pleased to be part of this vital forum that brings together a group of experts and practitioners from the field of social responsibility. The forum’s slogan, “Media: Reality and Responsibility,” clearly reflects the pivotal role that the media plays in our daily lives as an influential force that shapes society’s awareness and future. Through this forum, we emphasized the need for concerted efforts between the various sectors and the media to build a more cohesive and integrated society.”

Moreover, the CEO of the Social Responsibility Association, the organizer of the forum, Mr. Abdullah Al-Muhanna, commented on this collaboration by stating: “Our aim of the CSR in Media Forum is to offer a platform that will showcase the challenges we face in the field, and stimulate the free exchange of visions and ideas on a creative solution to address them. We believe that the media has a very important role in shedding light on these issues and opening new horizons for cooperation. We thank everyone who contributed to the success of this forum, and we are confident that it will contribute significantly to achieving our mutual goals of building a more prosperous society.”
