During a high-level ceremony in October, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Arabia CSR Network announced that Community Jameel Foundation as the 1st-place winner in the “Social Enterprise” category, during the 17th edition of the Arabia CSR and Sustainability Award Forum. This recognition acknowledges the foundation’s profound social impact and commitment to best practices in sustainable development and social responsibility.

Notably, this achievement shortly followed another accomplishment, as Community Jameel Foundation has also secured the Gulf Sustainability Award in the “Best Social Responsibility Initiative” category, which was announced during a ceremony held in Dubai in September, further solidifying the foundation’s position as a leading organization in providing innovative and sustainable solutions aimed at empowering communities and addressing economic, social, technological, and environmental challenges; in collaboration with partners from public, private, and non-profit sectors.

The participants’ evaluation criteria for the aforementioned awards included several metrics to determine the foundation’s level of excellence, such as the width and depth of the achieved social impact in the lives of targeted communities, the contribution of the foundation’s initiatives to sustainable development through environmental protection and responsible resource use, the foundation’s adoption of cooperation and partnership strategies with various sectors to achieve the desired impact, and the use of innovation and governance tools in addressing social and environmental challenges.

Commenting on this news, Dr. May Omar Taibah, a board member of Community Jameel Foundation’s board of trustees, expressed her pleasure in winning the two awards, stating: “We are delighted by these accolades, which reflect the evaluators’ confidence in our foundation’s performance in serving the community and their appreciation of our efforts to achieve sustainable social impact. These awards will serve as an incentive for the foundation to continue its efforts to improve the community’s quality of life, drive sustainable development, and contribute to achieving the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030.”

It is worth mentioning that the Community Jameel Foundation has won numerous local and regional awards since its establishment over the past two decades due to its distinctive initiatives and programs; focusing on specific developmental areas, including competencies development, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship empowerment, community wellbeing, humanitarian initiatives, and climate change.
