As part of its ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs and to improve their digital marketing skills, StartSmart organized the 3rd edition of the “Social Media Lab” with the support of the Community Jameel Foundation. The event took place on the 5th of February at Nafisa Shams Company headquarters in Jeddah. The lab aimed to empower entrepreneurs and startups to maximize the benefits of digital marketing and social media platforms, boosting their digital presence effectively.
The lab offered participants a comprehensive learning experience through four specialized tracks: a Diagnosis Clinic that provided experts’ mentorship, a Skills Development Lab that offered advanced workshops, a Reports Clinic featuring interactive discussions and panel discussions, and an Engagement Zone that facilitated networking with digital marketing agencies and freelance professionals. These activities were held in collaboration with key players in Saudi Arabia’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, digital marketing agencies, and freelance platforms.
Commenting on this event, Mohammed Abdulghaffar, the Senior General Manager of Social Initiatives and Entrepreneurship at Community Jameel Foundation, stated: “Digital marketing is a cornerstone of modern business success. The 3rd edition of the Social Media Lab was launched to empower entrepreneurs to adopt best practices in digital content management and develop effective marketing strategies that support the growth of their ventures.” Balqees Basalama, Community Jameel’s Incubator manager, added: “Through this initiative, we aim to provide practical solutions that enhance entrepreneurs’ ability to build a strong digital presence for their ventures. Hence, boosting their digital marketing activities to expand their customer base and increase their revenues.”
The Social Media Lab also focused on developing modern digital marketing concepts, utilizing artificial intelligence tools in marketing, analyzing gaps in the digital performance of startups, and providing practical solutions to improve digital marketing strategies. Participants were empowered to apply theoretical knowledge and transform it into effective marketing tools that enhance the reach of their ventures. This initiative aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in supporting entrepreneurship culture, increasing the contribution of SMEs to the national economy, and promoting digital transformation.
